(Mission trip opportunity for Juniors and Seniors)
Camp Barnabas is a camp located in southwest Missouri, for campers to come that have a chronic illness, physical disability, Asperger’s, or any kind of special needs. This is a unique experience for our students as they will see the constant care that takes place with the campers, as they are with the campers 24 hours a day.
The week that we are there, we will be serving those with developmental disabilities and/or autism. Throughout the week, together, they will enjoy many amenities at the camp. From the lake front to rope courses, archery to field sports, and so much more! This is one of those weeks where the student’s life will be impacted in a number of ways as their patience, attitude and energy are all stretched in a unique way.
Full time staff members, Troy Student Director Daniel Park and Lake Orion Student Director Matt Zellers, will be leading this trip.
Cost is $800. This price includes travel, lodging, meals, building and training materials. This does not include money for personal expenses.
Students who want to be a part of the Camp Barnabas team must complete an application online, by clicking the register button to the left, and include a mandatory, non-refundable $100 deposit which will be applied to the trip. If accepted on the trip, group training meetings will take place at the Troy Campus this spring.
The Deadline for applications/deposits is Thursday, March 8th.
