Although God gives us all things, nothing is ours. Nothing belongs to us. God owns everything; we’re responsible for how we treat it and what we do with it. We are called as God’s stewards to manage that which belongs to God. While God has graciously entrusted us with the care, development, and enjoyment of everything he owns as his stewards, we are responsible to manage his holdings well and according to his desires and purposes. Each morning, God gives you a day full of opportunities to praise him – chances to notice the small, but extraordinary gifts from your heavenly Father. Just imagine how abundant your life could be if you got serious about stewarding those moments every day, not just with money, but with your marriage, parenting, personal development, and career!
Want less stress? Budget more and worry less! Managing money wisely will help you honor God with your finances! After just 3 months of budgeting, 84% of people say they feel more in control of their money. Whether you want to create your budget online, in an app or on paper, we can help!
A simple we go get going is through a process known as Zero-based budgeting. The concept of a zero-based budget is simple: income minus outgo equals zero. If you earn $2,000 a month, you want every item that you spend/save/give/invest to all equal $2,000. That way, you know where every one of your dollars is going. Not knowing where the money’s going is what kills a lot of people’s money situations. They just look up one day and they have no money—and no clue about where it went.
We live in a world where debt is considered normal. “Don’t worry,” people tell us. “Everybody has it!” We’re bombarded with messages that say we can’t live without loans. We’re told we can’t go to school or buy a house or get a car without loans. So we borrow money to replace our cars, put 0% down on a new house, and finance our kids’ college. But before we know it, debt can become a big burden. It keeps us up at night. It causes us to spend more time worrying than praying. It causes fights in our marriages and can be very unhealthy. God never intended for us to live in bondage to debt. Romans 13:8 (NIV) says, “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.” The God of the universe didn’t want His people dragging debt around everywhere they went.
