“He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.” Philippians 2:8b-9
Christ’s sacrifice has resulted in universal honor.
As horrendous as it may seem for the Son of God to be rejected by sinful people and crucified like a criminal, the result of worship from people of all nations is beginning to be realized today. It is estimated that about 50,000 people become Christ-followers every day. Remarkable growth is happening in places like China, Iran, and Mongolia (joshuaproject.net).
Rejoice in the privilege of being part of those who by faith trust and worship Him. One day, those from EVERY nation will gather around the throne of Jesus and worship him with joy. Those who reject him from every nation will be forced to acknowledge that he in fact is the Son of God.
Pray that during this Christmas season, the Church throughout the world will be faithful to proclaim the “good news to all people” that the angels announced to the shepherds. Ask God to reveal to you how you can be a part of spreading his fame in your circle of influence and through partnering with believers in other parts of the world.
Father, thank you for the gift of salvation through Jesus. Empower me and your global Church to faithfully share the good news of Jesus. You deserve worship in every language, and we pray for open doors for showing and sharing the good news. Amen.
