“Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds.” Ephesians [4:17]
Salvation makes a radical impact on how believers live their lives.
When a person experiences new life in Christ, everything begins to change. This change occurs because they have been given the “mind of Christ.” We have been given a spiritual understanding of God and His redemption, which allows us to process values and behaviors differently than before we responded to His grace. Like a medical doctor who has been given the images and results from radiology and the lab, the believer is equipped with the knowledge of Christ which transforms how life previously appeared.
Take some time today to reflect on the difference Jesus has made in your life. What truths do you now realize that affect your moods and attitude? How have the life and values of Jesus affected the way you treat other people? What behaviors that used to seem “normal” before you trusted in Christ are now clearly “abnormal” for you as a believer in Jesus?
Although Christ changes us throughout our entire lives and there are certainly more changes He is producing, give God praise for the work that He has begun in you.
Father, I am grateful for the transformation You are producing in my heart and life. I am humbled that You have chosen to cleanse and sanctify me. I submit to Your continuing process of changing me more into the image of Your Son. Amen.
