“And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God’s creation. ‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.’” Revelation [3:14]-16
In 2003, a woman had a heart attack while on a flight. When flight attendants asked if there was a doctor on board, 15 cardiologists answered. The flight was full of doctors headed to a cardiology conference. The woman was truly at the right place at the right time. Remarkable.
Isn’t it a great feeling to know that we are right where we are supposed to be? When we take a posture of self-sufficiency, we miss the opportunity to be in the right place with the gospel. Instead, we become ineffective, and find ourselves in that place where the Lord finds us extremely distasteful.
Our faithfulness to the Lord puts us in a place to be used for the sake the Gospel, like the way 15 cardiologists were used on that 2003 flight.
Father in Heaven, sometimes it is hard to remember to have a posture of trusting and relying on You. I want my faithfulness to be in You alone. Lord, show me how to continue to trust You today. I want the effectiveness of the Gospel to shine brightly in my life. Amen.
