Gift Wrapped Week 2- Day 4

Lynn Bettes Gift Wrapped Devotional

“For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.” 2 Corinthians [1:20]

We can believe in the promises of God.

How do we know that we can believe His promises? Because all of God’s promises have already been fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Paul reminds the church at Corinth that all the promises of God have been answered and that answer is a Yes in the Messiah Jesus Christ Himself. When Christ came to earth, He lived a perfect life, was crucified, resurrected from the dead and ascended into heaven. Jesus was the fulfillment of all of God’s promises from Genesis through Revelation. He is the Yes of God. Jesus is the one who will save his people from their sins; he is the anointed Messiah; he is the fulfillment of all of the covenantal oaths; he is God’s ultimate sacrifice; and he is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. On that first Christmas morning the people of God received the Yes and fulfillment of all of God’s promises for His glory!

How do we know we can believe His promises? Because he has already fulfilled all of them in Christ Jesus. Remember this Christmas season that not only was the one who was born on Christmas day the savior of the nations, but he also proved that God always keeps His promises.

Father, help us to embrace the fact that you have already fulfilled all your promises in the gift of Jesus that we remember on Christmas day, Amen.

Hebrews [10:23]
