“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” John 14:3
For many people being home for the holidays is an amazing place to be.
For them, the holidays are a great opportunity to spend time with friends, family members and those who know you best. Yet for others, this is not the case and even for those who have good family dynamics, no home is perfect. Nevertheless, Jesus told his followers that we have a forever home.
Jesus reminds His disciples that he is going to prepare a place–a forever home–for all those who surrender to him. Jesus promised that this world is not all there is, but there is an eternal home which he has prepared. He not only has prepared this home, but he promises to come and take you to this home so that where He is you may be also.
God not only has prepared for Christians an eternal home so that he may be with us! Think about the value you have in the eyes of God. You are his prized possession. He loves you so much that he sent His son over 2000 years ago in a manger to die a criminal’s death to forgive our sins and that we may be with God forever.
Heavenly Father, thank you for the promise of our forever home with you. May we live our lives daily knowing that our true home is with you in paradise forever Amen.
