“…that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion…” Ephesians [1:20]-21
One of the worst experiences you can have this time of year is to go out to your freezing cold car in the morning, put the key in the ignition, and find that the car won’t start. After a few frustrating minutes you realize the car won’t start because it is out of gas, even though the car has amazing potential to get you warm and transport you anywhere you want to go. It can’t because it doesn’t have the fuel necessary to work.
Unlike our vehicles, Jesus is not powerless. After Jesus died on the cross, it seemed as though He was defeated. But because of His obedience, God gave Him power to overthrow death and sin.
When we come to know Christ, the amazing potential power of the Spirit comes and indwells us. The power that moves into our lives is the same power that raised Jesus from the dead!
The way that we access this power is through prayer. We pray and ask for Christ’s resurrected power to live in us and help us to obey and not be mastered by sin. We live every day in desperate need of Christ’s resurrecting power.
Is there an area of your life where you have been struggling to obey? If so, pray. Ask for Christ’s power to obey.
Jesus thank You for allowing Your resurrection power to live in me. I pray today that You will give me the power to trust You and obey. Amen.
