Puerto Rico Blog #5

Dominique Cochran Mission Trip Blog

Today started with a team going to finish the laundry room, finish the plumbing and screwing in the metal roofing. The other team went to work on a hydro-farm. The laundry room we’ve been working on is now completed and fully functional! It was so neat for the team to see all that work over the week pay off! At the hydro-farm, they weeded, planted lettuce, and created a new piping system! It was such a cool experience to be apart of.

We noticed how hard the people here work on their farms, and we have a deep appreciation for how God gives us each a specific calling. Through people like Miguel, who runs the hydro-farm, we were able to see how we  could s erve and honor God through our actions. As we think about planting the lettuce, we think about how it helps feed families in Puerto Rico. It’s an amazing feeling to know we are helping create sustainability within their communities. Our prayer is that as the lettuce is distributed, from local deliveries to marketplaces, we have a hope that relationships are furthered as the needs of the districts of Puerto Rico are met.
