The Countdown Today we woke up with a bittersweet feeling because it was our last day of ministry in Rome....
Today was a day of completion, fun, and a day of hard work and cleaning. We started off our day at the 180 and finished most of the projects we have started this week. Some painting, some building and some cleaning. After lunch we headed toward downtown Montreal.
We had the privilege to tour Welcome Hall Mission serving those in need since 1892. They provide support and care to men, women, youth, children and families. One person at a time. This incredible Christian mission provides: Men’s Emergency Shelter, Addiction Treatment, Transitional Housing, Life Coaching, Children’s and Youth Services, Education and Employment Training, Resale/Thrift Shop, Dental Clinic and Medical Services. They have a food bank that is being transformed into a Marketplace to give those in need a grocery shopping experience with their dignity in mind! What I took away from this experience is that just because people may be less fortunate they deserve respect, care and love and through that we can share God’s good news. We look forward to the opportunity for 180 to partner with them in this mission!
We finished the day in downtown Laval where despite the rain, we joined the 180 for a prayer walk. We walked around the city and stopped to pray at various locations including an arts and entertainment area, City Hall and a local school.
We ask for you to join us in praying for the 180 Church to shine God’s light and love to the people of Quebec and seek His will in all that they do. Also, for the few days that remain in our mission trip that we would continue to feel His presence as we do the work He has called us for.
