“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know- this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men.” Acts [2:22]-23
The word attested means to ‘bear witness in an official capacity’ – to ‘provide and serve as clear evidence of something’.
In college, I had the honor of being selected to represent the president’s office as one of his official ambassadors to the rest of the college, alumni, and donors. When I donned the crested blue blazer, I knew I was entrusted to speak and interact on behalf of our leader and university. I was essentially a witness to the president, an extension of his beliefs, ideas, and policies. Attested to the people.
As we’ve come to know, Jesus was no ordinary man. His ability to perform signs, wonders, and miracles were only accomplished by God, working through the power of the Holy Spirit in Him. Through His life, death, and resurrection, God revealed to the world that Jesus truly does deserve all the glory, honor, and praise.
How amazing to comprehend! He calls us ambassadors to attest to those we rub shoulders with daily, and to give Him the glory He so richly deserves.
How have you given glory to the Lord lately? If you are a follower of Christ, a disciple, does your life reflect His heart? Are you a positive example of an ambassador for His Kingdom?
Lord, may my life reflect Your heart and affection. As Your representatives to the world, may others know Your love, goodness, and truth in the way that I exemplify You! You alone deserve all the glory. Amen.
