Rethinking Family Week 4- Day 3

Lynn Bettes Rethinking Family Devotional

“Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, he [David] foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. This Jesus God raised up, and of that we are all witnesses.” Acts [2:30]-32

Don’t you just love when a good plan comes together?

The greatest plan ever masterminded is present in Peter’s message in Acts 2. Every detail in Christ’s life was a part of God’s ultimate, calculated, meticulousness, diligent, and decisive plan of redemption. Nothing was happenstance!

God had a measured plan to raise Jesus from the grave. He knew that death could not hold His Son. He would conquer over Hades. He sent Jesus Christ to us. King David had a special relationship with God, and because of this bond, he was confident in His promises and truths to speak about God’s plan for reconciliation through Christ Jesus. Wow! How does one fully comprehend this? Thank You, Father!

Do you believe that God raised Jesus from the dead? Do you trust in God’s promises and truths? If yes, does your life reflect it? The truth of God’s promises are worthy to be built upon; the sturdiest foundation we can ever invest in or experience.

Lord, may I be mindful of the foundation I’m constructing my ‘house’ upon. May the methods & materials I use support it and keep it strong. Through Your master plan, I have been granted the greatest & most rewarding relationship with Christ. I choose today to remember Your promises as I build my life upon the rock. Amen.
