The Countdown Today we woke up with a bittersweet feeling because it was our last day of ministry in Rome....
Today the team had breakfast at their respective places. The ladies came over to the base camp where we engaged in a time of devotions, studying Phillipians 1. After this, Amos’s new Italian staff member, Matteo, came over and shared his testimony. He also talked about what God has been doing on the local university campus through the ministry. They are seeing more and more students interested in learning about God through word of mouth by their peers. Later, three more Agape staff members (Tiffany, Brandon and Andrea who is Italian) joined us as we went to the university campus. Andrea shared her testimony with us, which was powerful. She then explained to us a new ministry tool that they wanted to begin using, which was a survey. The survey consisted of education, social and spiritual questions. We were then instructed to get into groups of two to conduct the survey. Most of the students that we encountered were open and willing to participate in it. The team members said they met students who were Catholic, atheist, and other. It was a great experience discovering what the local demographic believed in. We had great interactions with the students today as we ministered to them. After this, we split into two groups, one to shop for dinner and one to cook it. We hosted 8 Agape staff members and their families for a Mexican dinner at our place. After dinner, Pastor Mike gave a word from the Bible to encourage the staff. Our time of fellowship was so sweet as we got to know one another and their stories. We could see the staff’s passion for these students and the ministry that they engage in, and that was truly moving.
