Bible Story

Simeon at the Temple
Luke 2:22-39

Simeon gets to see baby Jesus after being patient and waiting a long time.

"I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength."

Philippians 4:13, NLT

ENGAGE IN EVERYDAY MOMENTS TOGETHER

Morning Time

When you go into your child’s room, say: "Good morning! We can choose patience today because Jesus can help us do everything."
 

Drive Time

While on the go, ask your child: "When is it hard for you to wait?" (to eat, have a turn, go somewhere) Tell your child that Jesus can help us choose patience and wait with a happy heart."

Cuddle Time

Cuddle with your child and pray: "God, sometimes waiting can be so hard. Thank You for sending Jesus to help us choose patience so we can wait with a happy heart."
 

Bath Time

Add a baby doll (or plastic nativity scene) to bath time for your child to bathe (play with). Talk about how Simeon waited a long time to see baby Jesus. Simeon chose patience and trusted God.
