Bible Story

Jesus Is Born
Luke 2:1-7

Mary and Joseph travel to Bethlehem, and baby Jesus is born.

“God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son.”

ENGAGE IN EVERYDAY MOMENTS TOGETHER

Morning Time

When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say: "It's Christmas time, [child's name]! Everything is looking so Christmassy! All of the decorations remind me how special Jesus is. We know Jesus is special because Jesus is God's Son!"
 

Drive Time

While on the go, take turns making animal sounds and guessing the animal. Talk about how there were no rooms for Mary and Joseph when they got to Bethlehem so they had to stay in a stable where animals lived. And that stable was where baby Jesus was born!

Cuddle Time

Cuddle with your child and pray: "God, [child's name] and I are getting so excited about Christmas! Everywhere we look we see all kinds of fun decorations. Please help us remember that all of these decorations are to celebrate that Jesus was born! And Jesus is the MOST wonderful because Jesus is Your Son!"
 

Bath Time

Add toy people and barn animals to bath time. Pretend the people are Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. As your child plays with the toys, say: "Mary and Joseph had to stay in a room with animals because there were no more rooms. When Jesus was born, Mary wrapped Him carefully and laid Him in a manger."
