JUNE 2024
WEEK FOUR

Elementary

Joy is choosing to celebrate
what God is doing.

Bible Story

Joy in the Psalms
Psalms 8, 16, and 19

Find joy in what you see around you.

MEMORY VERSE

“A cheerful heart makes you healthy. But a broken spirit dries you up.”

Proverbs 17:22, NIrV

Engagement Questions

  • What is the best thing you’ve ever seen, and how can you celebrate God for it?
  • How can you use your senses in a different way to find joy in what you see around you this week?
  • Which sense do you think is most helpful for you in finding joy?

Prayer

“Dear God, thank You that we can find joy around us. Thank You for the gift of our senses. Please help us find ways to celebrate You and what You’ve done this week. We love You and we pray these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

ENGAGE IN EVERYDAY MOMENTS TOGETHER

Morning Time

As your kid starts their day, tell them something good they did or said lately—something they may not realize you noticed.

Drive Time

While on the go, ask your kid: “What are some things you see while we’re on the go that you are thankful for?” (Maybe it’s the park or an ice cream shop.)

Meal Time

At a meal this week, have everyone at the table answer this question: “What is one thing you’ve seen this week that brought you joy?” (Either in-person, on social media, etc.)

Bed Time

Pray for each other: “God, open our eyes to see joy when life doesn’t feel very joyful.”
