10 Promises From God

I have a friend who takes pinky promises very seriously. You can tell her you’ll do anything or go anywhere, and if you bail, it’s okay. But if you pinky promise her and go back on your word, it’s unforgivable.

Promises are an interesting thing. We all make them. We all break them. Because we’ve all experienced broken promises, taking people at their word can often be hard. But even though the world around us continually lets us down, we have a God in heaven who will never go back on His word.

Whenever you are struggling, you can lean on the promises of God. While there are so many, we hope you will find comfort in the truths and promises God has said regarding His relationship with you.

1️⃣ I will be with you.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” — Deuteronomy 31:6

2️⃣ I will protect you.

“But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.” 2 Thessalonians 3:3

3️⃣ I will keep my word.

“God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind.
Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?” — Numbers 23:19

4️⃣ I will always love you.

“In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” — 1 John 4:9–10

5️⃣ I will give peace.

“Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” — John 14:27

6️⃣ I will answer you.

“If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” — John 15:7

7️⃣ I will be your strength.

“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” — Isaiah 40:31

8️⃣ I will guide you.

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.” — Psalm 32:8

9️⃣ I will fight for you.

“The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” — Exodus 14:14

🔟 I will provide for you.

“Therefore, do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” — Matthew 6:31–33
