Short-Term Mission Teams
why short-term missions?
We send short-term mission teams to glorify God:
- Among the nations
- Alongside our partners
- In the lives of goers
Whether you’re boarding a plane or supporting from home, every Woodsider has a role in fulfilling the Great Commission. Short-term mission teams are your chance to witness God’s work around the world.
let's go!
Short-term mission teams support dedicated believers already spreading the Gospel worldwide. Our global partners and missionaries open our eyes to how God is moving globally and challenge us to put faith into action. You’ll go home with stories of God’s faithfulness and a deeper desire to live on mission every day, wherever He leads you.

STM FAQ
How much does it cost to go?
Costs vary for each short-term team and may include airfare, vehicle rental, insurance, housing, food, project supplies, VBS materials, construction supplies, etc. We make every effort to minimize costs and keep trips affordable.
What is each team member expected to contribute?
Team members are responsible for securing their own funding by sending personal letters, posting their team’s fundraising link on social media, etc. Personal expenses such as passports, passport photos, required vaccinations and medications, visa fees, prayer letters, postage, souvenirs, or personal meals are not included in the total cost of your trip. Excess funds will be used to help with the team’s overall expenses.
Are donations made to my trip tax-deductible?
Yes. All donations (including your own) are tax-deductible when made payable to Woodside Bible Church. Each team member will have their own digital support-raising link, making fundraising much easier. However, contributions are non-refundable. If you have to withdraw from your team, funds cannot be returned.
Who hosts Woodside’s short-term mission teams?
Teams are hosted by Woodside’s global partners, the missionaries we support, and the organizations we work with.
What are the travel requirements for joining a team?
- Visas are required by some countries. If your trip requires a visa, the Missions Department will notify you and help with the application process if needed.
- Passports are always required to travel internationally. If you don’t have a passport of if it’s expired, start the application process as soon as possible.
- Routine immunizations are recommended but not required. In some instances, specific vaccinations are required to enter certain countries. If an immunization is necessary, you must provide proof of it to enter the country.
What if I get sick or injured on my trip?
Each team member must have personal medical insurance. Woodside will provide additional travel insurance for international support in case of emergency medical or security concerns.
Can I arrange separate itineraries to visit friends, attend other ministries, or sightsee before or after the project?
We don’t plan separate itineraries unless they’re necessary to achieve the team’s goals. Shared itineraries ensure smoother travel and stronger team unity.
If I’m unable to go, how can I still be involved in what God is doing through our short-term mission teams?
Even if you’re unable to travel with a short-term mission team, you can play a vital role in advancing God’s work around the world. Here are three powerful ways to support our teams:
- Pray for them. Ask God to prepare hearts and advance the Gospel. Pray for unity, safety, and open doors for ministry.
- Give financially. Support teams financially through their fundraising portals. Your generous giving helps make these trips possible.
- Give your time. We need drivers to transport teams to and from the airport using our Woodside buses. Email us at missions@woodsidebible.org to inquire about training.
