Important Update Regarding the Lodge

Woodside Friends & Family,

The elders and pastors of Woodside are excited to announce a new phase of operations for The Lodge.

In 2016, Woodside founded The Lodge in Deckerville, MI, with the vision to equip pastors and their spouses, enrich marriages, and multiply leaders in the local church. As the ministry of The Lodge has continued over the years, our executive leaders have looked for ways to achieve this vision more effectively while prioritizing the wise and efficient use of our resources. To support this goal, Woodside approved in January of 2024, after much prayer and due diligence, the donation of The Lodge to Barnabas Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Doug Schmidt.

The vision of Barnabas Ministries is to mentor pastors on both a nation-wide and global scale, which closely aligns with the initial purpose of The Lodge. This shift in operations and ownership will allow The Lodge to better achieve its original three-fold vision by broadening the field of pastors and families who will have access to the estate and increasing the frequency of organized retreats.

Both throughout this transition and afterwards, Woodside will continue to partner with Barnabas Ministries to attend to the growing needs of pastors and marriages within the church. Please pray for all those who will continue to receive ministry through retreats at The Lodge, as well as those who will be newly impacted by this change. We’re confident that God will work through this transition to bless the lives of many at Woodside and beyond.
